William John Frankovic, 88, Bradenton, passed away June 6, 2012. He was born on December 12, 1923 in Clifton, NJ to the late John and Mary (Brya) Frankovic. William served with the U.S Navy during the World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam War as a pilot. Following his military service he worked as a Captain with United Airlines and was currently their oldest living Captain. He moved to Bradenton in 2005 coming from Kona, HI. He was a member of the Kirby Stewart American Legion Post 24 in Bradenton. He was predeceased by his brother John and is survived by his wife Karin, and one step-son, Harry Bauer of Bradenton.
Funeral Information:
The family received friends from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., with services that followed. Private committal services were held at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville FL, 32256 in his memory.
