Obituary:
Robert Schofield, 90, Bradenton, passed away Nov. 25, 2012. He was born on May 10, 1922 in Oldham, England to the late Robert & Helena Mary (McAvady) Schofield. During WWII he served with the British Royal Air Force. Robert moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1947 and in 1972 moved to Tampa .Then in 1975 to Manatee County. Robert owned his own company that made medical instruments. He owned a local marina and general store at a local trailer park in Palmetto. He was a member of the Bradenton Lawn Bowling Club until closed, and then was a member of the Sarasota Lawn Club. He was predeceased by his son, Ian James in 1990, daughter, Linda Emmons in 2009, two brothers; Joe and John. He is survived by his sister, Betty (Nelson) King of Canada, three grandchildren; Shawn and Andrew Emmons of Bradenton, Jennifer Darling of Pittsburg, PA, three great-grandchildren; Liam and Ian Emmons of Bradenton, Kira Darling of Pittsburg, PA.
