Obituary:
Robert L. Charles, 72, Palmetto, passed away December 16, 2011. He was born on September 26, 1939 in Haslett, Michigan to the late Raymond and Inez (Hawes) Charles. He served with the U.S. Navy, and moved to Manatee County in June of 1987 coming from Eaton Rapids, Mich. He was the former owner of Island Auto Body on Anna Maria for over 14 years, and a member of the Island Baptist Church, attended the First Baptist Church of Ellenton, and was a member of the Studebakers Driver's Club. He is survived by his three children, Ray (Heather Schroder) and Cyndy (Kevin Lyon) Charles both of Eaton Rapids, Mich., Wayne Charles of Palmetto, brother, Jim (Debra) Charles of Parma, Mich., six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and his companion Judy Brackin of Nokomis.
Funeral Information:
