Born in Ellicott, New York he wintered in Bradenton since 1992 from Jamestown, New York.
A Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, he was the former Fire Chief and Commissioner in Trailer Estates, and in Fluvanna, NY, attended Trailer Estates Covenant Church, and was active in his churches.
Survived by wife, Shirley of Bradenton, FL; sons, Don (Diane) of Jamestown, NY, Brad (Annie) of Greenville, SC, Randy (Karen) of Solon, OH, Jeffrey (Tracie) of Jamestown, NY; daughters, Cindy (John) Butts of Jamestown, NY, Janice (Kenny) Ediger of Hutchinson, KS, Brenda (Bob) Johnson of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Everett (Pat) of Jamestown, NY, Lauren of Miami, FL; sister, Evelyn Stilson of Bradenton, FL; eighteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
