Obituary:

Michael A. Pieloch, 90 of Bradenton, passed away May 26, 2012. Michael was born on May 11, 1922 in New York, NY to the late John and Catherine (Cieplinska) Pieloch. He served with the U.S. Navy where he was involved in the invasion of the Philippines and was stationed for a while at Pearl Harbor along with several other duty stations during WWII. Michael after his military service worked as a machinist with Republic Aviation in Farmingdale, NY from which he retired from. He wintered on the Islands in Manatee County for ten years and for the last nine years has been a permanent resident of Bradenton, coming from East Northport, NY. Locally he was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Longboat Key, and the Kirby Stewart American Legion Post # 24 in Bradenton, and served as a volunteer at the DeSoto National Memorial.

         

Michael was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, and is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Constance Pieloch of Bradenton, one son; Mark (Joyce) of Bentonville, VA, two daughters; Virginia Novak of Babylon, NY, Victoria (Randal) Platts of Cornelius, NC, one sister, Virginia (James) Pathe’ of Rocklin, CA, three grandchildren, Michael, Kimberley and Tracy, and four great-grandchildren.

         

 



Funeral Information:

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 4-7 P.M. at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Dr., Longboat Key, with committal services to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery with final military honors by the U.S. Navy. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church or DeSoto National Memorial Park in Michael’s memory.
