Obituary:

Jeanne Larson Finn, 87, died peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her residence in Westminster Shores, Bradenton FL.

Jeanne was born in Jamestown NY on January 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Ralph E and Flavia L Larson.  She graduated from Corry High School and before her marriage  was society editor for the Corry Journal.   She married James N. Finn on July 8, 1950.

Jeanne and Jim lived in Erie PA and  maintained a summer cottage in Findley Lake NY, which they enjoyed for more than 60 years.  Upon retirement Jeanne and Jim happily took up residence in Holmes Beach FL and had recently moved to Bradenton.

Jeanne was a lovely lady and enjoyed golf, reading, sewing, knitting and card playing.  She was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and especially enjoyed the Tuesday quilt group.  She had many friends there and was very proud of their accomplishments.  She was also a past member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim, daughter Barbara Proctor (Don) of Erie PA, granddaughter Susan Martino (Nick), grandson Michael Proctor (Gretchen) of Falls Church VA and two great-granddaughters, Julia and Giana Martino and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley V. Larson in 2011.



Funeral Information:

Friends are invited to attend a Saturday December 8, 2012 3:00 PM service at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 6608 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach FL. Pastor Rosemary Backer will officiate.  Additionally, all are invited to join the family for a light meal in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or the charity of one?s choice.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, Bradenton FL.
