James H. Miller, 86, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on June 21, 2014. Jim was born in Scranton, PA to Barbara and Herman Miller on September 18, 1927.
Jim was a US Army Veteran serving in Japan during and following WWII. Jim worked for Bell Telephone, various coal companies, and IBM until 1968. In that year he became co-owner of a steel fabricating company in the Scranton area. He ran the company for many years until he returned to Bradenton. He was a long time member of St. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church Parish in Bradenton. His favorite hobby was tinkering and he could fix almost anything.
Jim is survived by his sons, Jim (Iris), Jack and Jeff; 7 grandchildren and his sister, Ann Kearny of Scranton, PA.
Memorial Mass will be 9:30 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2014 when his ashes will be placed in the St. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church Memorial Garden, along with those of his wife of 57 years, Mary Jean Farley whose ashes were placed there in 2005.
