Obituary:

Jack Ervin Schooley, 92, of Bradenton, Florida, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on December 25, 1920. He moved to the Sarasota and Bradenton area in 1952 with his wife and children. He owned several local businesses, including gas, propane, home building, and commercial real estate businesses. He was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, a member of the U.S. Naval band, a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific theater on the USS Alabama, and a long-standing member of First Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, Florida. In his retirement, he enjoyed touring the United States with the Good Sam Club, his membership in the Gulf Coast Carvers Guild, and golfing with friends at the Bradenton Country Club. Jack is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty, his sons Dennis (married to Vicki) and Glenn (married to Clyde), and his daughter Joyce Speakman (married to David). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Schooley, Susan Denise Albertson, Christopher Glenn Schooley and Kathryn Eleanor Schooley Faircloth. His great-grandchildren are Jack Stringer and Monaco 'Coco' Wayne (through mother, Jennifer), Austin and Logan Albertson (through mother, Susan), Aiden Schooley (through father, Chris), and Ryan and Alexis Faircloth (through mother, Kathryn). 



Funeral Information:

A funeral service was held at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton. Condolences for the family may be made online at www.shannonfuneralhomes.com.
