Gladys Conklin Jannarone, 92, of Bradenton, FL, and formerly of Neptune, NJ, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 at Surrey Place of Bradenton. She was born October 2, 1918, in Sussex, NJ. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Gladys was a social worker at Jersey Shore Medical Center from where she retired in 1988. Once moving to Florida, Gladys enjoyed boating, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. She was well known for her culinary talents. Gladys was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Philip, in 1997. She is survived by her son, Frank Jannarone of Barnet, VT, her two daughters, Jane (Gid) Pool of North Port, FL, and Carol French of Bradenton, FL; her three grandchildren, Robyn Narayouski of Port Charlotte, FL, Tanner (Lisa) French of Salem, IN, and Tyler French of Lutz, FL; two great granddaughters, Carissa and Hailey French of Salem, IN; two sisters and one brother, Shirley Strong, Vivian Straway and Michael Conklin of NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to any local Hospice facility.
Funeral Information:
A Memorial Service will be held at Surrey Place of Bradenton on Saturday, March 26, 2 PM. Condolences for the family may be made online at www.shannonfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements are by Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel, Bradenton.
