Obituary:

Doreen A. Broughton, 92, Bradenton, died January 5, 2014. Because baseball was their shared passion, she and her late husband, Warren moved to Winter Haven to follow the Boston Red Sox; after a move to Vero Beach, they finally settled in Bradenton in 1991. She became an active resident of Country Village and loved attending all the functions and parties. She was a dynamic member of Saints Peter and Paul Church and dedicated countless volunteer hours in the church office.  She also volunteered with Hospice.  She served in the Navy as secretary to a General for two years during World War II. Enjoying traveling, reading, walking and beautiful sunsets, she never lost her youth and had a constant love of life that was evident to her loved ones and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Warren R. (Louise), Jr. of S. Dartmouth, MA, Michael C. (Sugar) of Westport, MA, Mark (Cheryl) and  James (Ilya) of S. Dartmouth, MA; daughters, Kathleen Feeney of Bradenton, FL and Barbara (James) Allen of New Bedford, MA; brothers, William Peters of New Bedford, MA and Joseph (Janice) of Wareham, MA; sister, Myra LeValley of New Bedford, MA; her grandchildren, Robert (Kellie) Viera, Paul (Megan) Feeney, JP (Tula) Allen, Katey (Rob) Noyer, Mike (Rochelle) Broughton, Matt (Jill) Broughton, Warren (Meri) Broughton, Christian (Lynn) Broughton, Jon Broughton, Jacob Broughton and Aaron Broughton; great grandchildren, Katelyn and Trevor Viera, Jaxson Feeney, Connor and Tracey Broughton, and Eabha Rose Broughton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
