Obituary:

Cheryl Daugherty Edgington, age 67, Bradenton, FL, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2014. She was born in Findlay, Ohio on September 9, 1946 to the late Robert Oliver and Evelyn (Franks) Daugherty. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years, Clo Edgington Jr. in December 2009; her older brother, Robert Dennis Daugherty in 2002; and her famous "Uncle Dick" Daugherty in 2008. Cheryl was an alumni of Van Buren H.S. and attended BGSU and Ohio State University. She was a member of the Board of Realtors for 45 years and the American Business Woman?s Association.

 

Cheryl was the youngest female broker in the state of Ohio. She moved to Florida in 1980, where she was one of the founding members of the Bayshore High School Betterment Foundation and helped construct a multi-million dollar athletic complex. She was a cheerleading chauffeur and volunteered numerous hours working with kindergarten students on reading, writing, and teaching them life skills. She fought tirelessly for children and minority rights and always rooted for the underdog. She was President of the Wildwood Springs Women's Assoc.

 

Cheryl will be missed and always remembered with love and affection by her only daughter Lynn Lee Hudson; sister, Tina Marie; and nieces and nephews, Amy Beaver; Shannon, Shawn, and Kenyatta Daugherty. She also had two stepsons, Clo Edgington III and Thomas Edgington; along with numerous grandchildren.



Funeral Information:

The Celebration of her Life will be Tuesday, April 8th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel,604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. The family requests, that in Cheryl's memory, that donations be made to Moody Elementary 5425 38th Ave. West, Bradenton, FL 34209 in care of Cheryl Edgington Memorial. Cheryl will have her final rest place in Findlay, Ohio, by her farms, in the middle of June. Information will be coming. Condolences to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
