Ann McWhirt

Ann E. McWhirt, 67, Palmetto, passed away on June 13, 2012 at her residence in Palmetto. Ann was born on May 27, 1945 in Wilmington, Massachusetts to the late George and Mary (Goss) Rizer. She has been a resident of Manatee County since the mid 1960’s coming from New Jersey. Ann was retired from the Manatee County School Board where she worked in several local schools for over 30 years, and lastly was the attendance secretary for Palmetto High School for many years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Palmetto. Ann was predeceased by a son Kenny in 1974, and a brother Butch Rizer. She is survived by her one son and his wife, Kevin and Heather McWhirt of Bradenton, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Tina Wildman of Richmond, Virginia, Kelly and Jeff Richeson of Palmetto, Florida, Toni and William Booth of Bradenton, Florida, three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Christine and Ken Maynard, Millie Todd, both of Massachusetts, Mary Ellen and Jimmy Serepiti of Bradenton, Florida, nine grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. 

A memorial celebration of life visitation was held by the family on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 2-4 P.M. at the Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14^th Street West, Bradenton.
