Born in Moulton, AL he moved to Sarasota in 1999 from Cleveland, OH. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and he was a member of the VFW.
Survived by wife of 40 years, Mary Ann; sons, Larry, Darrell, Jeffery, and Donald; daughter, Judy Jones; step-daughters, Donna Pyle, Victoria Myers and Emma Degan; three brothers; four sisters, and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
