The Marauders hammered the St. Lucie Mets 8-1 on Sundayafternoon, taking the series from their South Division foe two games to one at McKechnie Field. Elias Diaz punctuated the win with his first homer of the season, a two-out grand slam in the eighth inning.

Two home runs by Maikel Franco powered the Threshers to a 6-3 win over the Marauders Thursday night at Bright House Field in Clearwater. The Marauders and Threshers split the series two games apiece. Bradenton returns home Friday to start a seven-game homestand.

The Bradenton Marauders erased a 7-1 Threshers lead, surging back to win 8-7 on Tuesday night at Bright House Field in Clearwater. Alen Hanson’s home run leading off the top of the ninth inning broke a 7-7 tie to put Bradenton up. Zac Fuesser (W 2-1) pitched four scoreless innings for the Marauders for the win. Emmanuel De Leon pitched a perfect ninth for his third save.

The Bradenton Marauders blasted a season-high six extra base hits on Monday night, powering past the Clearwater Threshers 5-3 at Bright House Field Monday night. Jeff Karstens made a rehab start for the Marauders, pitching three innings on 42 pitches, striking out four and allowing only one run.

At long last, former Manatee High QB and University of Nebraska legend Tommy Frazier will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The hall announced members this week who will be inducted as the 2013 class in a December 10 ceremony at the New York Waldorf Astoria. Long considered one of the greatest college players of all-time, the two-time national champion, who was kept from a pro career because of issues with blood clots resulting from Crohn's disease, will be among 14 players inducted this year.

The Marauders were stifled at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium Tuesday night, falling 3-1 against the Dunedin Blue Jays. Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Aaron Sanchez (W, 2-1) pitched 5 and 1/3 scoreless innings, surrendering only two hits to Bradenton while striking out six. Nick Kingham will take the mound for the Marauders in the series finale on Wednesday night.

The Marauders erased a 7-4 deficit late in the game, but fell 8-7 to the Dunedin Blue Jays on Monday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The winning run scored in the bottom of the ninth on a wild pitch by Joan Montero. The Marauders have played a league-high 14 one-run games, going 5-9 in games decided by a single tally.

The Marauders split a doubleheader with the Palm Beach Cardinals on Saturday night at Roger Dean Stadium. Bradenton dumped the Cardinals 7-3 in game one, but the Cardinals stormed back to snap their six game losing streak with an 8-2 win in game two. The Marauders were back in action Sunday, dropping a back-and-forth game 6-5 to the Dunedin Blue Jays Sunday evening at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

Weather has plagued this week in baseball. Last night's game between the Marauders and Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium in Palm Beach was rained out. On Tuesday, the Marauders concluded their postponed game from Monday night, getting a 5-4 win before losing the regularly-scheduled game, which was called in the 9th, due to more rain.
