The Tampa Bay Rowdies goalkeeper Matt Pickens didn’t start Saturday night’s 3-2 win over the Jacksonville Armada FC, but he certainly played a big role in ending it from the goalkeeper position. 

Pickens entered the match in place of injured starting goalkeeper Kamil Contofalsky in stoppage time and made a handful in saves in short time to protect Tampa Bay’s lead and help the Rowdies to a huge Coastal Cup victory in front of 5,460 fans at Al Lang Stadium.

The Marauders (9-8) won their fourth in a row, topping Jupiter (6-11) 5-1 on Saturday night at Roger Dean Stadium. Two Jupiter errors in the eighth helped the Marauders break open a 1-1 game with four runs.

One night after pounding 19 hits, the Marauders (8-8) scored their only run without a hit in the seventh inning while defeating the Jupiter Hammerheads (6-10) 1-0 on Friday night at Roger Dean Stadium.

The Marauders (7-8) ripped a season-high 19 hits while taking Thursday’s series opener 6-3 against the Jupiter Hammerheads (6-9) at Roger Dean Stadium. RF Jose Osuna went 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and a walk for the Marauders.

The Marauders (6-8) battled back from a 6-0 deficit to stun Charlotte (9-5) 7-6 on Wednesday night at McKechnie Field. Erich Weiss crushed a game-tying two-run home run off Jeff Ames with one out in the seventh, and one out later Edwin Espinal blasted a Brad Schreiber (0-1) pitch out to left for the winning run.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies suffered their first defeat of the season Saturday night, falling 2-0 to the New York Cosmos in the Cosmos’ home opener at James M. Shuart Stadium.

The Marauders (5-8) hung around through a barrage of hits by the Charlotte Stone Crabs (9-4) on Tuesday night, but a four-run ninth provided plenty of insurance as the visitor’s won 8-3 at McKechnie Field. Former Pirates farmhand Buddy Borden (2-0) earned the win for the Stone Crabs by allowing one run over three innings in relief.

The Marauders (5-7) plated two late runs but could not come all the way back from a six-run deficit in a 6-2 loss to Charlotte (8-4) on Monday night. RHP Felipe Gonzalez (0-2) pitched five innings and allowed four hits in the loss.

The Jupiter Hammerheads (4-7) snapped the Marauders’ (5-6) winning streak at three games, taking Sunday’s contest 7-2. The Hammerheads scored the game’s final five runs after the Marauders had drawn even 2-2 through five innings.

The Marauders (5-5) got strong pitching and a huge day at the plate from 1B Edwin Espinal to down the Jupiter Hammerheads (3-7) 4-1 on Saturday night at McKechnie Field. Espinal finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-3 and driving in three runs.
