County Commissioners will discuss whether the current two-year suspension of impact fees for schools and reduced county impact fees for roads should be extended at Tuesday’s regular meeting in county chambers. An extension would require the County Attorney to draft ordinances which would be subject to public hearings before they could be enacted.

The Board of County Commissioners held its first regular meeting of 2011 Tuesday morning at county chambers. The BCC approved its consent agenda which included Economic Development Incentive grants totalling nearly $750,000 which is expected to create up to 450 new jobs in Manatee County. The board also approved two Port Manatee improvement loans totaling $23 million, a master signage plan for River Club Park of Commmerce and heard the county's "Green Team" annual report. The results of the meeting are as follows:

The Robinson Farms zoning ordinance which was ultimately approved by the BCC last October after then Commissioner Gwen Brown changed her vote in a second motion, has been challenged by a petition and will be assigned to an administrative law judge for a hearing. This new development according to an email sent to county commissioners from the county attorney’s office.
