The west coast of Florida is dotted with so many high-end fine-dining options that there's usually little reason to drive very far in order to enjoy one. Within 30-minutes of anywhere in Bradenton, one can sample the fair at least a couple dozen $20-40 an entrée eateries. However, a new entrant on St. Pete Beach not only warrants the 35-minute drive, but will likely inspire return trips over the Skyway Bridge.

The new lead instructor of the Culinary Arts Department at Manatee Technical Institute, Jamie Gregorich, will talk about her fast rise in the culinary world from MTI to Euphemia Haye to Fox Television's Hell’s Kitchen and back in a talk at 7 p.m. this Thursday at MTI's Wagner Auditorium. The school invites the community to come and “meet the instructor.”

John Rehill, local government and environmental reporter for The Bradenton Times, will present a vegetarian dinner at Charisma Cafe in the Village of the Arts on March 22.
