BRADENTON – Air Products
Plant Manager, Mark Evans, stopped by Manatee Technical Institute on Friday
to bring two checks to express appreciation and support to MTI. The school has been training welders for Air Products for about a year.
“At Air Products Port Manatee, we are very fortunate to work with you and truly appreciate the sincerity and energy that you put into our community,” Evans wrote in a letter to MTI. “It honestly makes a significant difference and we take our relationship with MTI very seriously,” he went on to say.
The two checks, one for $2,000 and one for $1,000, written to the MTI Foundation represent program support for 2014.
“It’s wonderful of Air Products to appreciate MTI,” said James Heaton, welding instructor. “We are enjoying working hand in hand with them to develop their employees as we develop our students.”
The Welding program plans to use the money to fund scholarships to students with financial need to purchase required welding gear.
Air Products also serves on the Welding program’s advisory board, which helps to ensure MTI students receive the training they need to achieve success in the welding industry.
