Barbara Brownell named Coordinator, Manatee Home Visiting Coalition
BRADENTON – Manatee Community Action Agency, Inc. has named Barbara Brownell as Coordinator of the Manatee Home Visiting Coalition.
The newly formed Manatee Home Visiting Coalition brings together Manatee County’s in-home parent education service providers to maximize resources, and help ensure delivery of the highest quality services. The alliance will also help eliminate duplication of services, enable partners to share materials and resources, and expand their referral networks.
Brownell was formerly Parenting Education Program Director for the Family Partnership Center in Bradenton, and Outcomes Manager/Special Projects Consultant for Forty Carrots Family Center in Sarasota. She also served as an Elementary School Counselor, and a Parenting Education/Prevention Specialist with the Manatee County School district.
The Bradenton resident holds a Master’s degree in Education from Wake Forest University; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from Florida Presbyterian College/Eckerd College; and a Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate in Guidance and Counseling (PreK-12).
Manatee Home Visiting Coalition member organizations are: Early Steps; Family Partnership Center; Healthy Start; Manatee Children’s Services; Manatee Community Action Agency; Manatee County Government; Manatee Glens, and Whole Child Manatee.
