Bradenton Win 2-1 Over Tampa
BRADENTON – The Marauders (48-41, 13-7) rode dominant pitching to a fourth straight victory, winning 2-1 over the Tampa Yankees (44-47, 11-10) on Friday night. Three Marauders pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts in the win.
Tyler Glasnow (W, 5-4) mowed down 10 Yankees over 5 2/3 innings. The righty has struck out 10 or more batters in both of his starts against the Yankees this season. The Marauders scored once early and once late. Jordan Steranka singled with two outs in the first to drive in Max Moroff. Gourley doubled Bradenton’s 1-0 lead in the eighth inning with a base hit to bring home Josh Bell. Bell went 3-for-4 on the night.
Josh Smith pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief of Glasnow. Bryton Trepagnier (S, 9) pitched the ninth inning, surrendering one run but striking out two to get the save.
