JUPITER – The Marauders (38-34, 3-0) vanquished the Hammerheads (27-45, 0-3) in shutout fashion for a third straight night on Saturday, firing a 7-0 whitewash at Roger Dean Stadium. Chad Kuhl (W, 8-5) pitched a season high seven innings and struck out seven while allowing four hits and four walks. He has not allowed a run in 13 innings versus Jupiter this season.

Raul Fortunato opened the scoring in fifth inning, braking a scoreless tie on Trevor Williams’ first pitch of the frame with a solo home run. The blast was Fortunato’s third this season. The Marauders tacked on two runs in the sixth on against Williams. Taylor Lewis tripled Eric Wood home from first, and Jin-De Jhang followed with a double to plate Lewis.

Josh Bell collected his 44th RBI in the seventh with a run scoring ground out. Bradenton piled on with a three-run ninth inning to put the game away. Max Moroff finished 4-for-5 on the night with one run scored and one run batted in. Wood went 3-for-4.

Jeff Inman and Thomas Harlan each pitched one inning to finish the shutout. The Marauders had never previously won three consecutive games via shutout.

The Marauders return home to face the Palm Beach Cardinals on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. with sole possession of first place on the line. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. John Kuchno will be on the mound for the Marauders. All tickets and regular sized Kayem hot dogs cost just $1 for Marauders Sunday home games.
