Movers and Shakers: Regional Architects Turn to Future at Upcoming Design Conference

SARASOTA – The biannual Sarasota Design Conference, which is in its 13th season, will be held on May 15-17 2014. Featuring two acclaimed architecture Firms, UK’s Wilkonson Eyre and MASS Design Group of Boston, MA, an environmental artist, Stacy Levy and futurist, David Houle. Houle, whose is consistently ranked as one of the top futurists and futurist keynote speakers in the world will convene to discuss the theme, “What’s Next,” - how architecture can contribute to the future of society.


The conference is being held by the AIA Florida Gulfcoast, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and will be held at the Lido Beach Resort. Special public pricing is available. 


The opening night, May 15th, will include an awards ceremony, honoring the winners of the AIA Florida Gulfcoast Chapter’s design awards program. In addition to the awards program, Wall Street Journal Architectural critic Alastair Gordon will discuss his take on the ”What’s Next” theme. 


In addition to the speaker presentations, the conference will include a Friday night Tradeshow where attendees have an opportunity to learn how cutting-edge products can be applied in their architectural practices. To wind down at the close of the conference, a sunset beach party will be held on Lido Beach Saturday night.
