SARASOTA – Able Challengers, a non-profit, resource group for the mobility challenged and their caregivers will host their spring symposium this Saturday, April 12, in Sarasota. The event will include a lineup of vendors, speakers and demomstrations on resources for the limited mobility community. It is free to the public no registration required.

The Able Challengers mission is to provide resources for the limited mobility community in regards to peer mentoring, education, adaptive sports and fitness. They charge no fees and draw no private or public revenue. The members are all volunteer.

For the event, the group has pulled many of the largest providers together to discuss with the public their services, including: Vocational Rehab, Suncoast Center for Independent Living, Sarasota Memorial Hospital Group, SCAT, and numerous smaller providers to help educate the community of the resources available to the public at little or no cost.

The symposium will be held at the Institute for Advanced Medicine 5880 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
