TBT's John Rehill to Guest Chef at Charisma March 22
BRADENTON – John Rehill, local government and environmental reporter for The Bradenton Times, will present a vegetarian dinner at Charisma Cafe in the Village of the Arts on March 22. The prix fixe dinner will consist of a special menu designed by Rehill, a practicing vegan who spent years as a restaurant proprietor and bulk sprout supplier in between stints in journalism.
Before coming to TBT, Rehill's feature freelance work appeared in a wide range of regional and national publications including: Z Magazine, Creative Loafing, Dissent, The St. Pete Times and the Tampa Tribune.
The evening's entrees will consist of Spring Rolls, Garden Green Pancakes or Buckwheat and Pumpkin Ravioli. Guests will also be able to choose from soups: Leek Lemon Verbena Tomato, Green Miso or his famous Borsch la Cream Beet; as well as sprout salad or Sri Lanka Slaw. Dessert will be a Vanilla Flan with Orange and Black Cherry Sauce.
Don't miss this chance to Go Green with Charisma, while supporting our local farmers. The dinner will feature a '70s inspired theme with music by Victoria Doyle. Theme attire is encouraged and the best dressed couple will win a culinary basket.
Dinner is $40 per person (excludes tax and gratuity; includes one glass of wine or beer). Seatings begin at 6:30 p.m. and are limited. Call 941.748.8203 for reservations. Charisma Cafe and Tea House is located at 1004 10th Avenue West in Bradenton's Village of the Arts.
