A warm front should move across Florida over the weekend just in time to try out those Christmas presents you received. Our contributing Capt. Rick Grassett recommends fishing deep grass flats of Sarasota Bay for trout, blues and more. Looking for false albacore and tripletail in the coastal gulf when conditions are good should also be a good option next week.

FWC investigators seek the public's help in learning who dumped 400 pounds of fish at a boat ramp on Tyndall AFB.
- Investigators with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) need the public’s help.
Sometime during the evening hours of Dec. 1 or early morning hours of Dec. 2 someone using the Davis Beach Boat Ramp (also called Research Road) on Tyndall Air Force Base unloaded and dumped at least 400 pounds of roe mullet, spotted seatrout, pompano, flounder, Spanish mackerel and bluefish at the ramp. The discarded fish were discovered by Tyndall staff on Dec. 2.
- A new buoy deployed this month by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) in Old Tampa Bay collects continuous water quality information to help researchers learn more about conditions that trigger harmful algal blooms.
Strong high pressure will remain north of the waters through Saturday. The high will move east into the Atlantic on Saturday as low pressure develops over the northern Gulf. The low will then move northeast across the Florida Panhandle Saturday night dragging a cold front through the waters on Sunday. High pressure will build in over the northern Gulf on Monday in the wake of the front.

will bring southeast winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to around 15 knots after midnight. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. A chance of showers in the evening then showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms after midnight.
South winds 10 to 15 knots then becoming west 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. A chance of thunderstorms in the morning...then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Sunday night will bring northwest winds around 5 knots. Bay and inland waters smooth.
