The Bradenton Times Polls

Poll Question: Do you think that Florida craft brewers should be able to sell the industry standard 64 oz. draft, "to-go" bottles of beer called "growlers" like 47 other state currently allow, especially considering they're already allowed to sell larger or smaller bottles, such at quarts and gallons.

Community Spotlight: PGT(R) Continues Support of Local Non-Profit With Year-End Donation

VENICE – PGT Industries, the nation's leading supplier of impact-resistant windows and doors, donated $5,000 to Sarasota County's Children First as its year-end contribution to the organization. PGT embraced the local non-profit at the start of 2013 and has supported its efforts throughout the year with service work, fundraising, a classroom sponsorship, and the December donation.

Earlier in the year, 35 PGT employees spent a day completing much-needed maintenance and landscaping projects at two Children First facilities in Sarasota. PGT Vice President, Debbie LaPinska organized the work day event, which included time to interact with the children and staff. More recently, PGT was a sponsor of the "Flip Flops and

Fashion" luncheon, as well as the first annual "Rockin' Lobster" dinner and silent auction.

"We're proud to be able to provide assistance to such a wonderful organization," said LaPinska. "Part of our community outreach mission is finding an organization to assist and continuing that support through the year."

"We were thrilled to have PGT's help this year," said Philip Tavill, President and CEO at Children First. "We want to provide assistance to as many children as possible in Sarasota County. Having business support offsets some of the cuts we've recently experienced."

Listed on NASDAQ, PGT is one of the largest employers in Sarasota County and a pioneer of impact-resistant windows and doors. Children First is a private, charitable, non profit organization that serves Sarasota children and their families with the ultimate goal of providing kindergarten readiness.

PGT pioneered the U.S. impact-resistant window and door industry and today is the nation's leading manufacturer and supplier of residential impact-resistant windows and doors. Founded in 1980, the company employs approximately 1,400 at its manufacturing, glass laminating and tempering plants in North Venice, Florida. Utilizing the latest designs and technology, PGT products are ideal for new construction and replacement projects serving the residential, commercial, high-rise and institutional markets. PGT's product line includes PGT(R) Aluminum and Vinyl Windows and Doors; PGT WinGuard(R) and PGT PremierVue(R) Impact-Resistant Windows and Doors; PGT(R) Architectural Systems; and PGT Eze-Breeze(R) Sliding Panels.

PGT Industries is a wholly owned subsidiary of PGT, Inc. (Nasdaq:PGTI). For more information about the company, visit www.pgtindustries.com.
