Community Spotlight: New CEO Brings Heart & Soul to Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County
BRADENTON – On October 1st, Marc Dosogne stepped in as the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, bringing with him a well-respected, award-winning, 28-year career with the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Marc has spent the last decade as the CEO for Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. While there, he led the campaign for a new club and administrative center, and a successful endowment campaign. The club, board, staff and programs have earned a number of regional and national awards under his leadership. His earlier experience included a variety of positions including Residential Camp Director, Program Director and Executive Director. Recently, he was awarded the Midwest Region Horizon Award, and BGCA’s medallion for his professional accomplishments and commitment to the movement.
This week, Mr. Dosogne will receive the highly prestigious BGCA Midwest Region “Heart & Soul” Award from Boys & Girls Clubs of America. It’s called “Heart & Soul” because, over the years, the Midwest Region has labeled itself as the heart and soul of the BGCA movement. This recognition is given annually to a CEO who has demonstrated an accomplished career, strong leadership and mentoring.
Originally from Chicago, Marc attended DePaul University, where he received a master’s degree in Management of Public Services. But don’t let Chicago or Oshkosh throw you off. Marc is not a stranger to our area. His parents, now deceased, moved to Bradenton in 1986 and, while visiting, Marc and his family fell in love with the community, beaches and lifestyle.
Marc, his wife Julie and their 16 year old son, Andre, are looking forward to calling Bradenton “home” and Marc is ready to roll up his sleeves and lead the mission to serve more children in Manatee County.
