Spotlight on Education: Lincoln Middle FFA Chapter Named to Top 5 Nationally
BRADENTON -- The Lincoln Middle School FFA Chapter has been selected by the National FFA organization as one of the five finalists for the "Outstanding Middle School Chapter" in the country for 2013. Under the leadership of Lincoln Middle School Academy of Agriscience Instructor Kimberley Lough, the Lincoln Middle FFA Chapter will be recognized at the National FFA Convention and Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, October 30 - November 2, 2013, where it will compete to be named the nation’s most outstanding middle school FFA Chapter.
The National Chapter Award program recognizes FFA chapters that successfully complete an annual Program of Activities designed to encourage members to grow as individuals, to work as part of a team, and to serve others.
The Lincoln Middle FFA chapter was chosen as one of "Florida's Finest" chapters and honored during the Florida FFA State Convention in June of this year. That made the Lincoln Middle FFA eligible for the national award.
Each of the five outstanding middle school chapters will present a 10-minute presentation that will include an introduction of the members, the chapter and a brief overview of the chapter's activities. The presentations will be judged and a winner of the "Outstanding Chapter for 2013" will be named.
The other four outstanding middle school FFA chapters recognized along with Lincoln Middle include Chatham Middle School in Virginia, Signal Knob Middle School in Virginia, Tomlin Middle School in Florida and South Sumter Middle School in Florida.
