Local Company Wins Product of the Year Award
BRADENTON — IRISS, a leader in the industrial infrared window market, announced that the Platinum Series VPT Infrared Window was honored as the Specialty category winner in the 2013 Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M) magazine Product of the Year competition. This year, a panel of 12 judges — including electrical professionals representing the design/engineering, contracting, and facilities/maintenance industries selected by the EC&M editorial staff from a pool of the magazine’s readers — reviewed and voted on 160 entries in 47 categories. Since 2000, the prestigious EC&M Product of the Year Competition has promoted new product development excellence in the electrical industry.
The IRISS Platinum Series IR windows utilize an exclusive, Poly-View System™ technology and are the world’s only clear polymer IR windows. Visual inspections and traditional IR camera inspections are performed across the entire IR spectrum and UV inspections are implemented with a corona camera. These windows carry an Unconditional Lifetime Warranty and comply with UL, CUL, IEEE, NEMA, IP, BSI, ABS, Lloyd’s of London and CSA 22.2 No. 14-10.
"We are excited that the Platinum Series VPT IR windows won the Product of the Year Specialty category award in EC&M's 2013 competition," said Martin Robinson, CEO of IRISS, Inc. “Receiving this award is further validation that our company remains committed to the continued development of innovative products. Our Platinum Series VPT IR windows are industrial-grade with a patented reinforced grill that exceeds high voltage switchgear viewing pane standards,” continues Robinson.
IRISS announced last April it would consolidate its U.K.-based manufacturing operation and U.S. headquarters at a new global headquarters in Manatee County. The Manatee Board of County Commissioners approved $12,000 in performance-based incentives, and the State of Florida also committed $48,000 to accelerate the company’s hiring and capital investment. In addition, IRISS qualified for expedited permitting and approximately $6,393 in transportation impact fee mitigation from Manatee County Government.
