Music in the Park Celebrates Bradenton's Riverwalk Park

BRADENTON -- This spring, the Bradenton Riverwalk is alive with “Music in the Park,” a free event by Realize Bradenton. The six-concert series takes place Friday and Saturday evenings, March 1 through March 29, 6-8 p.m., at the Riverfront Amphitheater, 452 Third Avenue West in Bradenton. Food and beverages will be available for sale. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

The series was made possible with support from the Bradenton Downtown Development Authority.

"We welcome people to come and watch the sun set over the Manatee River while listening to inspired music," says Johnette Isham, executive director of Realize Bradenton. "Bring the kids, friends, and family to enjoy Florida's fabulous spring weather.

March 1:  Marc Mannino Jazz Quartet

The quartet has been playing concerts, special events and shows in Florida for the past four years. The instrumentation consists of: guitar, trombone, bass, and drums. The group plays a variety of repertoire which includes jazz, pop, and Latin standards.

March 8:  David Smash Band

David Smash is originally from Lithuania, he won second place in his country's version of America's Got Talent. He has a love for America's early Rock and Roll, blues, and current music. The David Smash Band recently played on the main stage for New Year's in Sarasota and they rocked the audience.

March 9:  The United States Coast Guard Concert

To honor the Coast Guard’s 218 years of service to our nation, the band performs an evening of patriotic selections, classical works, and jazz standards. Saturday evening from 5:30-7:00 at the Pavilion.

March 15:  RJ Howson Band

Fire branded in the Chicago blues circuit, roots rocker and bluesman RJ Howson picked up his skillful guitar chops performing and jamming with blues icons at Buddy Guy’s Legends club, Rosa’s Lounge, Kingston Mines, BLUES on Halstead, and many other clubs in the Windy City.

March 22:  Shotgun Justice

Put together from classic rock, southern rock, and country veterans, Shotgun Justice puts it all together just right for any venue. With more years in the business than they would like to admit to, this band can rock any house and turn any event into a memorable one.

March 29:  Dean Johanesen and The Human Condition

The acoustic-leaning group, helmed by singer-songwriter-guitarist Dean Johanesen, performs tunes in the vein of Ben Harper, Led Zeppelin, and Radiohead, running the gamut from subtle and understated to arena-ready rocker with mile-wide sing-along hooks.
