A mother to one and grandmother to five, Carolyn Higdon is contesting for the Palmetto Ward 1 Commissioner seat.
Higdon became a retired U.S. Army Master Facilitator after 24 years of service. She uses her experience with the military in her current work as a facilitator for Jim Brown’s Amer-I-Can Program. Founded in 1998, Amer-I-Can seeks to empower individuals to reach their full potentials in academia and throughout life.
Within the community, Higdon is a board member for the East Palmetto Women’s Club and previously participated on the Eternity Temple First Born Church’s board.
