North River Little League Night at McKechnie Rescheduled for Tomorrow

BRADENTON – A Marauder promotion to benefit the beleaguered North River American Little League which had been scheduled for Tuesday, will be held tomorrow due to Tropical Storm Isaac. Tickets can be purchased at Palmetto City Hall or online. $3 from each ticket sold will go toward the league.
For the past two years, TBT has chronicled the unfortunate fate of Palmetto's North River American Little League and their struggle to get the baseball fields they were promised when their old site was utilized in developing the town's new elementary school. Tomorrow, you can help out the kids and all you've got to do is get out to McKechnie Field and enjoy a ballgame.
The event, titled "City of Palmetto Night," as the Marauders hosts the St. Lucie Mets. The Marauders are in the middle of a pennant race, battling to win the second-half championship, which would secure a spot in the FSL playoffs.
Tickets are only $5. Gates open at 5:30, the game starts at 6:30. Tickets must be purchased in advance to benefit the league. They are available at Palmetto City Hall, or click here to download an order form that can be faxed or emailed with tickets picked up at will call. The deadline for ordering is tonight at 9 p.m.
