Palmetto City Commission Agenda Results: July 2, 2012
PALMETTO -- At Monday's Palmetto City Commission meeting, Volunteers of America made an agreement to provide utility services so that the group can go forward with building six duplexes for veteran and low income residents. At this year's 4th of July celebration, all is set for a day of music and fun with Three Dog Night taking the stage at 7p.m. until 8:30 p.m., with fireworks soon after.

8. BASEBALL FIELD UPDATE -- Mayor Shirley Groover Bryant had a meeting with Manatee County Administrator Ed Hunzeker and found there were more sampling of the fields and the test results will be avaible July 24.
9. ASR WELL UPDATE No report, waiting for FDEP results
10. 5TH STREET STREETSCAPE AND SUTTON PARK PROJECTS: SWFWMD coming to take pictures and tests of the absorption of the pavers. All is very close to schedule.
11. DEPARTMENT HEADS’ COMMENTS Public Works: At the Sutton Park 4th of July Celebration the following roads will be closed after 5pm. -- 7th st. from 10th to 11th blocked -- 6th st. at 11th ave. will be blocked -- 9th ave. between 6th st. and 7th st. will be blocked.
Chief Wells -- At the 4th of July event, everything should be fine and the department will be working hard to ensure all goes smoothly.
Jim Freeman -- Code enforcement meeting on the 31st.
