Weekend Adventures in Bradenton: Feb.10 -12, 2012
This weekend in Bradenton the weather will be great for the outdoor escapades taking place. Although, if you’re not into tromping through Neal Preserve, or strolling through the outdoor craft festival by the water downtown, the State College of Florida is hosting a benefit concert in their performing arts hall. Put on a good pair of walking shoes and grab some sun glasses, it’s time for a Weekend Adventure in Bradenton!

Neal Preserve is one of Manatee County’s ongoing restoring projects. As part of the restoration, volunteers have been removing invasive plant species and planting native greenery. The preserve is not yet open to the public, but a “sneak peek tour” is being offered.
Come and see the work volunteers form the community have done restoring the area. You can hike with a naturalist who will lead you through the preserve and talk about the changes, and challenges of opening a new preserve.
Admission is free and the tour is suitable for all ages. You must reserve a spot for the tour by calling (941)748-4501 ext. 4616.

The Downtown Bradenton Craft Festival is setting up camp for the weekend at the north end of downtown at the waterfront. The festival is another exciting art centered event by Realize Bradenton.
The waterfront will be transformed into an outdoor art & craft showcase with over 100 local and nationally recognized artisans. Admission is free, open to the public and all ages are welcome.
The beautiful weather and waterside views should make this event even more enjoyable.

Friday night at the Neel Performing Arts Hall, The Manatee Symphony Association is having a fundraiser for the Sarasota Orchestra.
It will feature the State College of Florida Jazz Band, a 20 piece Big Band, under the leadership of Don Scaletta playing the standard tunes of the Dorsey’s, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and others.
You can get your tickets at the event, $25 for adults and $10 for students.
