MCSO January Employee and Deputy of the Month
MANATEE COUNTY -- On December 2, 2011, Detective Jeffery Bliss and Detective Scott Williamson were outside a convenience store when they were alerted by a customer that a man was having a seizure inside the store. They acted quickly, moving the man away from the sharp metal shelving and opening his airway. Shortly after, the man went into cardiac arrest and both detectives began CPR until EMS arrived. The man was transported to the hospital and later listed in stable condition.
Their actions can be credited to saving the man’s life, for which Detective Jeffrey Bliss and Detective Scott Williamson are awarded MCSO Deputy of the Month for January 2012. Congratulations!
On Saturday, January 7, 2012, Collin Haught was at work cleaning carpets at the Operations Center 2nd Floor at the same time detectives had a suspect in custody in the Criminal Investigations interview room. Although the inmate was handcuffed and shackled, he was able to leave the interview room and was known to be somewhere in the building. When called, Collin responded quickly and provided the necessary assistance to access all areas of the building, which resulted in the suspect being located in a short time. Afterwards, Collin worked to return all furniture to its proper place and clean up the debris caused by the search, all while maintaining a positive attitude.
For his spirit of cooperation, Collin Haught is awarded Employee of the Month for January 2012. Congratulations!
