BRADENTON -- Winds and seas are expected to increase between the western Atlantic high pressure ridge and a developing storm system in the western Gulf through Thursday. A cold front will move across the region Friday with increasing winds and seas and thunderstorms expected ahead of the boundary. High pressure will build into the region behind the front this weekend.
Thursday
Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots becoming south around 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. Thursday night will bring south winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. A chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight.
Friday
Southwest winds around 15 knots becoming west late in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. Showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Friday night will bring west winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. A slight chance of showers in the evening.
Saturday
Northwest winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Saturday night will bring north winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop.
Sunday
North winds around 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters becoming a moderate chop.
