Pirates and Marauders Auditioning National Anthem Singers
Tryouts to be held at McKechnie Field on January 28th
BRADENTON – The Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders are in search of the very best talent the area has to offer to sing or perform the National Anthem prior to games during the upcoming Pirates Spring Training and Bradenton Marauders Baseball seasons.
The Pirates will be hosting an open audition on Saturday, January 28th beginning at 9:00am at McKechnie Field, 1611 9th Street West, Bradenton. Each audition will be done a capella and is to be no longer than two minutes in length. Auditions will be held in front of a judging panel of Pirates employees. Starting at 9:00am, contestants will sign-up upon entering the stadium and will perform in the order of which they are registered. Contestants may not pre-register; all registrations will be taken on the day of tryouts only.

Contestants interested in singing the Canadian National Anthem during the Pirates’ Spring Training match-ups against the Toronto Blue Jays on March 4 and March 7 will be asked to perform the song at the January 28th auditions as well.

Season and group ticket packages are currently available for the 2012 Pirates Spring Training season. Fans interested in purchasing individual Spring Training game tickets will have their first opportunity to do so during a special online-only “Early Bird Pre-Sale” January 18-20 at www.pirates.com.
“Early Bird Pre-Sale” pricing is different than regular single game pricing and is an alternative purchase opportunity for those fans who want to be guaranteed the best seats to the Pirates’ games against the Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies, Rays, and Tigers. Any tickets that remain after the “Early Bird Pre-Sale” will go on sale to the public on Saturday, January 21st.
