BRADENTON BEACH – Next Thursday, Mayor Bob Bartelt of Anna Maria Island will be naming independent recording artist, Mike Sales, the Official Singer of Bradenton Beach at the City Commission meeting. He's already known as Mr. Anna Maria Island, so the moniker would only make sense.

Sales is an Anna Maria Island-based, independent recording artist who draws country, reggae, standards, oldies, pop and rock influences, to create his eclectic, “beachified” style. The Santa Rosa, California native began singing at age 10 and later had major regional success with the band Crashparty, with whom he toured 42 cities in 11 states, including Hawaii and Alaska.

After a stint in Nashville, the journeyman musician began managing music clubs to pay the bills. Though he ultimately left Nashville to take a shot in Florida, Sales worked day labor jobs for two years before getting back in front of the mic. These days Sales is booked solid. You can catch him up and down the AMI coast most any night of the week and his album “Howlin with Mike Sales,” on iTunes.

Friends and fans are invited to attend the ceremony next week at City Hall.
