While in his last year of law school, Steube enlisted in the Army’s delayed entry program and after completing the Florida Bar exam reported to basic training. After a year in the Infantry, Steube branch transferred to the Army JAG Corps where he completed his last three years of service.
As a Captain in the Army JAG Corps, Steube acted as a legal assistance attorney, administrative attorney, operational law attorney, the chief of detainee operations, and as criminal trial counsel.
A veteran of the Iraq War, Steube has first-hand knowledge and experience of meeting challenges head-on and solving problems.
Steube believes that some of Florida's greatest problems include small business growth, education, and energy sources. "We need to focus on the growth of small businesses through tax breaks, and in order to retain our small businnesses we need a skilled work force," said Steube. Education is very important so we need to do everything we can to support it as well. We also need to allow our state to give incentives for alternative sources such as wind. We can't just focus on one area."
Currently, Steube is an associate at the law firm of Najmy Thompson, P.L. working in the firm’s Lakewood Ranch office. He practices general civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation, probate litigation, family and marital law, intellectual property litigation and military law.
He also practices in the area of real estate, land use, governmental, agricultural and environmental law.
