Family wins backyard makeover contest

BRADENTON - Heather and Joey Patoray of Parrish won the $16,000 Ultimate Backyard Makeover Contest, David and Lisa Burns said Monday. Their yard received the most votes.

 

The Burnses own Backyard Getaway, a company that turns boring backyards into places people can be proud of. Other businesses will also help with the makeover work.

 

Lisa Burns said she's going up to the Patorays' house today to have a look at the yard.

 

The actual makeover will take place in the second week of October, and a visit to the Women's Quarterly Web site will show the work in progress.

Thanks for the post Vincent. I wanted to add a note. The photo above was provided courtesy of Michelle Donner Photography. Michelle is one of the local contributing businesses. She will be taking photos of the yard in progress as well as donating a portrait of the winners in their new backyard.
