De Soto National Memorial’s Concerts on the Lawn Presents Dana and Susan Robinson

Date: February 23, 2013Time: 5:30 pm
Location:  Show map De Soto National Memorial
8300 De Soto Memorial Hwy
Bradenton, FL 34209

De Soto National Memorial’s concerts on the lawn presents Injunuity on Saturday, February 23rd, music begins promptly at 5:30pm. Injunuity, an all Native American flute based orchestral rock band, was formed in 2007 with award winning Choctaw composer Brad Clonch alongside Chickasaw composer Jeff Carpenter. The music of Injunuity focuses on two things. First, it promotes the introduction of Native American music and history into popular culture, helping break stereotypes about Native Americans and the music within the Indian culture. Second, it preserves an aspect of Native heritage through use of the cultural iconic Native American Flute. All music Injunuity performs and composes is based on the Native Flute, making this group a rare genre find when mixed with their sounds of modern rock music and classical orchestrations.

The group is based out of Ada, Oklahoma. So come out and join us for a night of wonderful music under the stars. Make sure to bring your blankets and chairs. Concessions will be provided courtesy of the Bradenton’s own Ocean Harvest Grill.
