Join the Palmetto Friends of the Library as they welcome Don and Carol Thompson to the library for a program about Egmont Key starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013.
The Thompsons will present "Egmont Key: the Little Island with a Big History"
Have you ever been out to Egmont Key and wondered about its history? This is your chance to find out everything about this historically-important island in Tampa Bay.
The Thompsons have written and published a brand new book titled, “Egmont Key: A History.”
The event is free and seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis. There is no advance registration required.
Special programs such as this are made possible by funds provided by the Friends of the Library. The Friends are a support organization for Manatee County’s Palmetto Branch Library. Monies raised by the Friends go toward projects and services that tax dollars alone cannot provide.
