6081 26th Street West
Bradenton, FL
Manatee County’s South Manatee Branch Library will host a special health program about Strokes on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
“How to Prevent a Stroke” will be presented by Holly Dykema, Program Director of the Stroke Association of Florida. Learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms, as well as how to help prevent a stroke and act fast if one does strike.
Strokes kill more women each year than breast cancer; and they are not limited to senior citizens. Fully 25% of strokes occur in people under the age of 65. There are 14 risk factors for strokes; and fortunately, 9 of them can be controlled –in fact, reducing just one risk factor can greatly lower the chances of having a stroke.
The program is free and everyone is welcome to attend. There is no advance registration required; seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
The South Manatee Branch Library is located at 6081 26th Street West in Bradenton. For more information, please call the library at 941.755.3892.
