Palmetto Friends of the Library Easy Gardening Program
Date: January 26, 2013Time: 10:00 am
923 6th Street West
Palmetto, FL 34221
Join the Palmetto Friends of the Library as they welcome Monica Brandies to the library for a program on Easy Gardening starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Her talk will begin with her first rule of gardening: Enjoyment! She states that gardening “should be relaxing and should give the gardener exercise, peace, beauty, and bounty.”
Brandies is the author of eleven books, including “Florida Gardening: The Newcomer’s Survival Manual.” The book is an especially helpful guide for people who may have considered themselves to have a “green thumb,” but have discovered how different our state’s weather, soil, and even insects are from what they were accustomed to while living up north.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Special programs such as this are made possible by funds provided by the Palmetto Friends of the Library. The Friends are a support organization for Manatee County’s Palmetto Branch Library. Monies raised by the Friends go toward projects and services that tax dollars alone cannot provide.
The Palmetto Branch Library is located at 923 6th Street West, in Palmetto, Florida. For more information, please call the library at 941.722.3333.
