Central Library welcomes “Rocketman,” Gregory Cecil

Join the Friends of the Central Library on Saturday, January 12, 2013 starting at 2:00 p.m. in the library’s auditorium as they welcome special guest speaker, “Rocketman” Gregory Cecil. 

A former Senior Aerocomposite Technician, Cecil will talk about his experiences working on the Space Shuttle Program at the Kennedy Space Center. Join us and find out what “aerocomposite” means! 

Mr. Cecil says, “Not many people have had the pleasure I had to get up in the morning, kiss my wife goodbye, and exclaim ‘I’m going to go to work on my spaceship!’” 

The event is free and seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis. There is no advance registration required. 

The Friends are a support organization for Manatee County’s Central Library. Monies raised by the Friends go toward programs and services that tax dollars alone cannot provide.
