Condominium Board Members and Homeowners are invited to attend a FREE CERTIFICATION COURSE on Thursday, December 13th at the Venice Community Center (326 Nokomis Avenue South, Venice, FL 34285).
Learn the basics for condominium board members with this informative and easy to understand course that satisfies the new requirements of 718.112(3)(b) of the Florida Statutes for the newly mandated educational curriculum to serve on the board of directors of a condominium association. The course, "Board of Directors Certification Course" is presented by the West Florida chapter of CAI.
In this 2-hour classroom course, newly elected condominium board of directors will develop a greater understanding of their fiduciary duties and how it relates to the operations of their condominium associations. The teaching method utilized for this course will consist of a lecture followed by a question and answer session at the end. Handouts will be provided as references for the attendee to review.
The course will cover the four following topics, each presented in thirty minute durations:
· Bids and contracts
· Condominium Elections: Requirements and Best Practices
· Condominium Operations
· Financial reporting
Instructors include a panel of attorneys, community association manager, and certified public accountant. A Certificate of Achievement will be issued upon completion of the course.
The West Florida chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) sponsors a series of FREE educational programs for Condominium, Co-op and Homeowner Association members. These programs are open to any association board members and condo/home owners. The seminars are free, but seating is limited and participants must pre-register.
