More than 45 Foster Care Families and more than 140 children in Foster Care will be treated to a special celebration this Friday, December 7, 2012, when Haile Middle School hosts the Manatee County School District’s 3rd Annual Technology Student Association’s Holiday Party from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Student and faculty volunteers representing TSA Chapters from Haile, Nolan, Johnson, Sugg, Harllee, Buffalo Creek, and King middle schools, as well as Lakewood Ranch, Southeast and Bayshore high schools will provide technology-related activities and gifts for the children and families attending the event.
Decorated in a winter wonderland of technology theme, the party will be full of holiday cheer as students and families learn and participate in various technology events and take home educational toys and completed projects they make during the course of the evening.
Children will race CO2 cars, operate robots, design a video game in Scratch, create an animation using Flash, build a boat for racing, laser engrave a thermos, design a marsh mellow gun, create a digital design in Photoshop and print it on a T-shirt, and many more activities that will inspire them to explore science, technology, engineering and math. Everyone attending will also be treated to a spaghetti dinner, have a chance to take a photo with Santa, and create ornaments for their tree at home.
The TSA Holiday Party is one of the most special events of the school year and makes for heart-warming photographs and video.
