The Bradenton Times Polls

Poll Question: Do you think that when a drunk driver injures or kills a passenger who is also inebriated and willingly got into the car knowing the driver's state, it should be viewed the same as if they killed or injured a sober motorist or pedestrian who was not in their vehicle, in terms of their sentencing?

Yes, either way their choice and action caused death or injury  No, they should still be punished but some of the responsibility lies with the person who chose to get in the car More polls »

A FREE Introduction to Krav Maga class from 11:30am - 12:30pm at America's Best Martial Arts & Fitness.

Krav Maga (pronounced KRAHV muh-GAH) means “Contact Combat” in Hebrew. It is, like most military based unarmed combat systems, simple to learn, aggressive and easy to remember under the tremendous stress of combat.

Unlike more complicated, traditional martial arts which can take years to master, Krav Maga is designed to be learned quickly and deal with real world attacks such as multiple opponents, armed assailants and muggings. Unlike sports systems which spend their time training to beat one person who weighs the same as they do, in a padded environment, with doctors, referees and rules, KM is concerned only with reality.

Another difference between KM and traditional martial arts is that the majority of the latter are preserving an art form that’s been taught the same way for hundreds of years. KM is different in that it’s constantly evolving with feedback from military specialists, law enforcement officers and civilians. As criminals evolve and change their methods of attack so must an effective self protection system evolve.
