Local
artist, Tyrell Waiters, wears the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Celebration shirt with a design he helped create. The message of "Dream
Big," in celebration of the life and leadership of Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr., is one that inspires the promise of youth and hope of our
community. The shirt design and message was commissioned by the City of
Palmetto CRA in support of the Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration and
will be handed out by Palmetto City Commissioners taking part in the MLK
parade on Saturday, January 15
th at 12PM. Tyrell Waiters
was born and raised in Palmetto, Florida. He attended Bayshore High
School and graduated in 2007. After graduating, Tyrell enrolled at State
College of Florida for two years to pursue his dream and a career in
fine arts. After his second year at SCF, Tyrell was given the
opportunity to attend Ringling College of Art and Design under a
Presidential Scholarship. Tyrell is currently an Illustration major and
longs to have a career as a storyboard artist for animated movies and
cartoons. Tyrell says, "As of now I have a long way to go, but I have
come a long way as well. So I have faith that my dreams will come true
as long as I continue to pursue them in the way that I have been."
