Welcome to Miller's
We take great pride in serving the freshest, highest-quality food
possible. Every day we start out fresh, making every one of our soups,
salad dressings and gravys from scratch. We don’t cut corners and we
don’t settle when it comes to authentic ingredients, like our homemade
creamy mashed potatoes, or our famous peanut butter pie! At Miller's ,
it's all about quality — and all about the food.
In the beginning..
In 1981, Ervin and Erma Miller left Amish country in Holmes
County, Ohio for a new life on Florida's Gulf Coast. Ervin knew
old-style farming and Erma knew the home--which centered around
the family kitchen. They both understood the meaning of hard
work and didn't hesitate to buy an old restaurant in Bradenton.
Miller's Dutch Kitch'n was born, and business grew quickly. The
six Miller children-young adults at the time-followed shortly to
help run the family business.
When Ervin died in 1982, Erma and
the children continued the dream. Ervin would be proud of
today's successes at Miller's Dutch Kitch'n.
These days, five
of the six grown children continue to run the restaurant. Erma
"retired" but can't stay out of the kitchen. Most days you'll
find her there, looking over the homemade pies and creamy mashed
potatoes.
It's always been a family affair. When holidays
come around, the Millers bake thousands of pies. In-laws and any
grandchild old enough to stir wash their hands and roll up their
sleeves to help out.
One family tradition that never goes out of style is the old Amish way
of cooking. The Millers use only top grade meats and the highest
quality ingredients to get that home-cooked, down-on-the-farm
taste. As the Miller family likes to say, it's "Just downright
good eat'n!"
